BRAINPORT’S GOAL: A HIGH-QUALITY, ADAPTABLE WORKFORCE
Making sure that we have enough well-educated professionals and knowledge workers is essential to the economic growth of Brainport and we must continue to attract and retain talent from both home and abroad. However, the competencies demanded by companies and knowledge institutions are continuously changing. In addition to technological knowledge and skills, there’s a growing need for entrepreneurship, research and design competency. With today’s rapid tempo of technological and social change, it’s essential to have an increasingly adaptable workforce. We want to give children, students and employees in the region ongoing education so that they have the skills and knowledge to be adaptive and therefore productive for many years in our business and industry. It also enables employees to get the best out of their talents. An adaptable workforce is also the key to enabling many Brainport companies to successfully combine their need for flexible employment with the employees’ need for job security. We have recently launched the Technology Pact Brainport 2.0, in which we convert these ideas into concrete programs and trials.
Vision of internationalization of education
Owing to a far-reaching globalization and digitization the economic and social changes in the world are going increasingly fast and are in many ways disruptive. To maintain our competitiveness in this world, we need to understand and adapt to these changes.
