Open innovation is almost always multi-disciplinary; those with a scientific education work together with market researchers, sociologists and psychologists. Since cooperation and trust in one another is critical in open innovation, the high degree of trust Dutch people place in other people goes some way to explain why this is so successful in the Netherlands.
