Among the world’s leading developers and manufacturers are Frencken, Sioux and Philips Medical Systems, the inventor and manufacturer of products such as the MRI scanner. The Eindhoven University of Technology invests much research capacity in biomedical and medical technology. This multidisciplinary research is conducted in collaboration with industry and medical institutions in the region.

International visitors inspired and informed by interaction and innovation

Nearly 1300 people from around 30 countries spent their time in Eindhoven from September 24th till September 27th. For the first and only time the AAL Forum 2012 was organised here. The Evoluon was the location of the meeting based on ambient assisted living; AAL stands for stimulating the launch of innovative products and services based on ICT which help to age in a good and healthy manner. The forum is an initiative of the AAL Joint Programme set up by the European Union and encourages research and development for the challenges of an aging population.
