In the Brainport region unemployment levels have been consistently below the Dutch national average, and economic growth above average.The percentage of highly educated population also continues to rise faster than the national level. Last year the region had 9% more first-year technology students starting the academic year. At almost every level of education, including Bachelor degree level and, this year, also vocational college level, student numbers have increased. The labor force is currently at 399,000 in the region.
