Dutch well-being ranks above average

The Netherlands performs well in many measures of well-being in the Better Life Index of the OECD, and is one of the top-ranking European countries. It ranks above the average in work-life balance, jobs and earnings, housing, income and wealth, education and skills, subjective well-being, health status, and social connections. This makes the Netherlands a pleasant place to live, where you can pursue your ambitions both on a personal and professional level.

Many job opportunities in the Brainport region

Eindhoven bucked the national trend in job figures between 2010-14, showing a 3% increase even during difficult economic times. Since then, CBS figures from 2015 show accelerated growth in jobs. The Brainport Eindhoven region is one of the world players in High Tech systems and materials. A quarter of its jobs are in technology and ICT, with companies such as FEI (formerly Philips Electron Optics), NXP Semiconductors (formerly Philips Semiconductors), ASML, Philips, Toolex, Simac, CIBER, Neways, Vanderlande, VDL and DAF.
