Summa College starts English only degree courses
26 September 2017
Summa College has taken the first steps in offering courses entirely taught in English. Starting this year, the courses International Engineering and International Business will be given in English. The aim is to offer at least six international courses within the next four years.
Summa College is the second mbo college in the Netherlands to offer English only courses, and the first to do so in the Brabant region. Mbo (middelbaar beroepsonderwijs) is the Dutch system for secondary vocational training.
During the kick-off on August the 28th, 41 students gathered for an introduction with their fellow students, teachers and organizations from the region such as KMWE and Brainport Development.
The start of the next two English only courses (Aviation Services and Fashion) is expected in 2019.
The new courses are the result of the Summa International project. This project is part of the program 'We are the future', carried out by the municipality of Eindhoven and Brainport Development.
